These are pictures of the car as it was, where it was, before I bought it. I also attached an excel file that is somewhat like my budget. Items with vendors not shown or in ‘italics’ have not been bought yet. I work on the car 1-2 times a month if I'm lucky. I've been working on the front suspension and steering for what seems like forever now.

Just that looking at all that leaking power steering fluid and torn ball joint boots/seals really bugged me. By the way, your 'ugly comet' is great. My 3-1/2 year old son always asks me if I'm going to work on my 'broken car.' he's got me calling it that too! It will be next year before it's on the road - 3 months later than planned, but what's the hurry?

Doug - As I promised my few updates may just be my own little victories. I finally finished the power steering rebuild. I rebuilt the pump and control valve w/ kits from Mac's Ford Parts. I just replaced the boot on the p/s cylinder - it looks alright but I have this funny feeling I should have rebuilt it too. It took awhile but I found a centering spring kit for the control valve using 'parts voice' from your page. Thanks! That $15 kit (no longer available from the usual mail-order channels) saved me from buying a rebuilt at around $140. There's still a million things to do. See ya.
