Jerry Straight- 1965 Mercury Comet 202 2 dr. sedan
I wish I had more time to work on it, the hard part is all done, but with 4 kids it is tough! I hope this summer I can at least get it in running condition and I will update you on the progress at that time. What I am trying to build is a '202' sedan with an original 4spd Cyclone drive-train and a few tweaks.
On the sedan, I have not done much on the suspension yet but you are correct, it will have all V/8 stuff under it. I have a complete drivetrain and undercarriage out from a low mileage 64 V/8 Caliente I parted. I have the spindles, springs, power steering and rear but I have not had time to clean them up and put them on yet. Hopefully will get some time this summer.
PS - The white Cyclone you see in the background is for sale if you happen to talk to anyone who may be interested in one. It is an automatic car from South Carolina. Car has virtually no rust in it. Three minor pinholes in the right quarter but other than that I think it is rust-free. Car needs restored but would be a very easy resto since nearly no body work needs to be done. Paint has flaked off in a few places and it has some surface rust in those spots so the car really needs to be stripped. Someone did a pretty sorry repaint at one time. Asking $4500 but open to a close offer. I just bought another one out of California and have too many. One needs to go. Thanks
